  2. The program structure comprises Core Courses, Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC), Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), and Elective Courses, spread across all semesters, accumulating to a total of 174 credits.
  3. Courses combine theory and practical components, ensuring students receive applied exposure alongside foundational knowledge.
  4. The curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary electives, allowing students to opt for courses from other departments within the School of Agriculture.

    • Plantation forestry and nursery management
    • High-value forest product processing
    • Ecotourism and wildlife health
    • Forest inventory, mapping, and restoration
    • Socio-economic and village-level field surveys

  9. The program is updated as per the latest academic regulations (2021 onwards) to meet current ecological, industrial, and research demands in forestry and allied sectors.
  10. Graduates are prepared for roles in forest services, research institutions, NGOs, agroforestry consultancies, and industries such as timber, paper, and plantation enterprises.

After completing a B.Sc. (Hons) in Forestry, students can explore job opportunities in forest departments, NGOs, and industries linked to forest products. Companies like Wimco Seedlings, Star Paper Mills, and ITC often hire forestry graduates for roles in plantation management, nursery operations, and sustainable sourcing. Many also prepare for government exams or take up roles in environmental consultancies and forest-based enterprises. Those aiming for government services like the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and State Forest Services (SFS) find a definite edge through these courses.
