M.Sc. Botany

The Department of Botany is committed to providing quality education in the field of Plant Sciences while fostering environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility toward conserving natural resources. The study of Botany is essential, as plants form the backbone of all life on Earth. Our program equips students with a comprehensive understanding of plant biology, offering both theoretical knowledge and technical skills necessary for holistic plant study.

Students are trained through a dynamic blend of Core, Elective, and Advanced Research modules, with a strong interdisciplinary approach. The department emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation among students, researchers, and educators alike. We maintain  Greenhouse and Herbal Garden, where new plant varieties are cultivated, and a Plant Herbarium that involves active student participation in collection and documentation as part of their research work.

To keep students abreast of the latest scientific advancements and research methodologies, the department regularly organizes guest lectures, seminars/webinars, and workshops. Additionally, educational tours are arranged for the collection and study of important plant species in their natural habitats.
